Get Involved

Pitch ideas, get your questions answered, share opportunities and find other ways to get involved with CSP

How do you want to get involved?

  • If you are a community-focused organization or business looking for a CMU intern to support your mission, contact us with details HERE.

  • If you are a CMU undergraduate looking to intern with a community-based organization, consider applying for the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Research-To-Practice grant. Contact us HERE with questions.

Also visit our Internship Opportunities Page.

  • Community engagement can be a complex undertaking in university settings. If you are a member of the CMU community and looking for guidance on community engagement efforts, The Center for Shared Prosperity is available for conversation. Please fill out THIS FORM and our community engagement specialists will be in touch to schedule a meeting to learn more about your work and how we can best assist you in your efforts.

  • We’re working to build a database of local, minority owned businesses (example people of color, indigenous peoples, etc.). If you are a business like this , or know a business, that would like to be on this list, please fill out THIS FORM.

Where we spend our money matters. Each purchase that we make here at Carnegie Mellon University is an opportunity to invest in local, minority-owned businesses. Purchasing food for events, meetings, and gatherings is a low-barrier way to support these businesses and be better neighbors to the broader community. Cornelia Moore, Purchasing Manager in Civil & Environmental Engineering, has created this directory to purchase from minority-owned businesses in the Greater Pittsburgh region. We want to express our sincere thanks to her for these efforts and hope you share this vital resource with fellow staff, faculty, and students. Please contact Cornelia (cornelia@andrew.cmu.edu) with any additional businesses that should be added to this list or if you find this information to be out of date. See the current database HERE

  • If you have any questions pertaining to CSP, our work, getting involved, or anything else, please reach out HERE.

  • The Research-to-Practice grant awards $5,000 to undergraduates at Carnegie Mellon for 8-10 FULL-TIME weeks of summer research that positively impacts the Greater Pittsburgh Region community.
